There is rising incidence of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in our country. 3 to 4 lacs of people develop End Stage Kidney Disease every year. Diabetes & Hypertension account for more than 60 % cases of chronic kidney disease. Understanding the need to prevent kidney disease, foundation has been doing following activities,
1. Regular Screening Camps
Regular screening camps are conducted for measurement of Blood Pressure & Blood Sugar through out the year to detect cases of Diabetes & Hypertension at early stage. These patients are further guided at Kidney Disease Prevention Clinics (KDPC) organized frequently by the foundation. All big societies and organization interested in having prevention camp are requested to contact the office for registration.
2. Dialysis and Transplant Workshops
Dialysis workshops on every Wednesday and transplant workshop on every Saturday are conducted between 12:00 noon to 2:00pm at foundation office.
3. Educational Brochures
NKF distributes educational brochures on kidney disease, its prevention, and organ donation.
